The homepage for AVG Antivirus. They offer a great antivirus product for free to home users. For a modest fee you can have more features and priority updates. It doesn't slow your PC down either.

Norton's Symantec Antivirus Research Center. It is a great resource for virus info and removal tools. They maintain a list of virus hoaxes as well.

Microsoft's automated updating system. You can get security updates and patches for your Windows® system to keep it up to date.

Lavasoft makes software called AdAware. It removes sneaky ad popup software, cookies and other devices used to track your website usage. The free product works great but, for a small fee, you can get an upgraded version with some nice features.
www.safer-networking.org The makers of Spybot Search And Destroy. Similar to Adaware, it helps get rid of all the nasties the internet has to offer.

Panicware makes Popup Stopper, a program that will stop annoying ad popups in their tracks. Holding the <ctrl> key will allow a desired popup to work. Again, the basic is free but, for a small fee, the updated version has some nice features.
